As with many districts in the rest of the state, high school athletics here in Bellingham are scheduled to be held in three short seasons beginning in December 2020, following guidance from the Washington Interscholastic Athletics Association (WIAA). 

A short optional conditioning season–referred to as Return To Play (RTP)–has been approved as conditions allow and is scheduled for October 26th through December 19th.

Conditioning Season Clearance (RTP)

Once the guardian and student portions of FinalForms athletic registration have been completed, athletes need a sports physical exam on file.  Physicals are valid for TWO years from the date of the physical.

2020-21 “FALL” SPORTS CLEARANCE INFORMATION

Anticipated Start Date:  March 1st, 2021

WIAA Season 3:  Volleyball, Girls Soccer, Football, Girls Swim & Dive, Cross Country, Slowpitch Softball, Boys Tennis

REQUIREMENTS TO PLAY A SPORT

Online Registration — Parent and student portions of FinalForms must be completed before a student can be cleared to practice.  Please select the sport(s) the athlete wishes to participate in during the year.

* Current Physical — needs to be on file in Athletic Office–physicals are valid for 2 years from date of examination–sports physical exam Physicals can be uploaded to FinalForms, scanned and emailed to Pamela.Behee@bellinghamschools.org, or mailed to Squalicum High School.

* No ASB Card payment is required this year.  

* Fines or fees — Current policy is that all fines and fees must be paid before an athlete is eligible to clear.  However, if you need any financial assistance or have questions about your account, please contact the ASB Office at Shawn.Flaherty@BellinghamSchools.org.

* Contact the Athletic Office.

* Non-full time Squalicum studentsPlease visit the WIAA Student Eligibility Center for required WIAA eligibility forms needed by students not attending Squalicum full time (i.e. Running Start, Homeschoolers, etc.).

Important:

  • After completing the online registration forms, your student will need to confirm their interest in participating before each sports season through the Athletics Office.
