Dear Future Graduate and families of the Class of 2022,

As we approach graduation, I want to congratulate our Class of 2022 on reaching this important milestone. It has been an honor and privilege to work with you over these past few years.

Squalicum High School’s graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday June 11th at 4:00 p.m. at Civic Field.  It is mandatory that all students who plan to walk at the graduation ceremony, including Running Start students, attend and participate in the graduation rehearsal on Friday, June 10, from 8:30 – 11:15 AM, report to SqHS Gym.  Please plan accordingly to ensure that you attend the required rehearsal.

Anyone attending our graduation ceremony will need to have a ticket to get in, regardless of age. Tickets must be presented at the gate upon arrival.   Every senior will be offered up to six graduation tickets and have the ability to request two additional tickets for possibly receiving eight. If you do not require all six tickets, please leave your extra for other seniors who need more. Please inform the ASB office, during the week of June 6th – June 10th, how many tickets you will use/need. Tickets will be distributed to seniors once they turn in their senior clearance form during final week of school. Unfortunately, we may not be able to fulfill all additional ticket requests. We are not able to replace lost tickets, so please take care of your tickets. In addition, the ceremonies will be livestreamed.

Parking will be available in the Civic Field parking lot. Since we are sharing the facility with other high schools, parking may be limited. Please try to limit the number of vehicles per family, if possible. Graduates are encouraged to ride the school bus transportation provided with their fellow seniors to and from graduation. Having graduates arrive all together was a meaningful kickoff to the ceremony last year, and we are hoping to replicate the magic this year. We will share more information about riding the bus as graduation gets closer.

Graduation is a time-honored tradition where family, friends, and stakeholders in your life gather to celebrate this special day, honoring the multiple years of hard-work, personal growth, and determination. To uphold the values and traditions of our graduation celebration, we ask seniors to present themselves in a mature, respectful, and professional manner. Therefore, we ask our students to wear proper attire from head to toe. Graduates are allowed to decorate their cap. Please ensure that the cap is appropriate and follows our school dress code policy. If the cap is found to be inappropriate on graduation day, graduates will be provided a blank cap to wear for the ceremony. Balloons, noisemakers, streamers, signs, or selfies on the field are not permitted.

Please refer to the 2022 Graduation Schedule of Events below for more dates and times relating to senior activities and graduation. Let us know if you have any questions, we are here to help make this as smooth as possible for you and your family.

I want to personally thank you for making our last four years at Squalicum High School rewarding. You are an incredible group of talented and compassionate students. Each one of you have brought unique gifts to our school community; you have helped to mold our school culture and values for generations to come.  I hope that your memories of Squalicum will be forever cherished.
